The Only 5 Stock Photo Sites You Need to Use

What stock photo sites are the best? This is a question I get asked a LOT – so to preserve your sanity, I have curated my handy-dandy go-to list right here on this page.

I use these exact stock photo sites shared below for these reasons:

  1. THEY’RE PERFECT FOR THOSE WHO ARE LACTOSE-INTOLERANT. Look, the vast majority of stock photos can be majorly cheesy. What I love about these resources is that they’re low on cheese and high on looking super awesome.
  2. THEY DON’T REQUIRE ATTRIBUTION. For the most part, these photos do not require you give attribution when you use them. They also let you use the photos freely, adapt, remix – and the like. However, over time, the Terms and Conditions of these sites is prone to change. So, as I write this post, you’re in the clear to use these images at will, but just be cautious if you’re reading this a year from now.
  3. USING THEM MEANS YOU DON’T HAVE TO TAKE YOUR OWN PICTURES. Free, professional photos for the taking. You can’t beat that! I always prefer to take photos to go with my content because it feels a bit more “me” and a bit more “unique,” but if I opt for a stock photo, I know I can’t go wrong with these resources below.

WHAT IT IS: Pikwizard has a mega-huge library of images totally FREE for the taking with a BUILT-IN editing feature – the latter which makes this the top of my list!

WHAT I LIKE ABOUT IT: Volume – for one! There are over 100,000 high-quality images there, with 20,000 that are completely exclusive to Pikwizard. The built-in design feature eliminates the step of using Canva or Photoshop to modify the image for your use on your blog or social media channel — this is revolutionary stuff.

Stocksnap - What stock photo sites are the best?

WHAT IT IS: Stocksnap gets to go first because it’s actually my favorite stock photo site of them all.

WHAT I LIKE ABOUT IT: They don’t have a million-bajillion photos to choose from. They actually have a much smaller amount, but have done their due-diligence by excluding anything that looks silly. There’s rarely a photo on this website that I don’t like. And frankly – that’s pretty cool.

Dreamstime - What stock photo sites are the best?

WHAT IT IS: Dreamstime is the best stock photo site that has a blend of both free and paid images.

WHAT I LIKE ABOUT IT: Their paid images are SUPER affordable. Most stock photo sites will charge you $75 or something for an image and expect you to fork it over. Dreamstime is incredibly competitive with their pricing – and offer a wide variety of investment levels for paid images. So, if you’re looking for something specific you can’t seem to find on the free sites, you *just* might find it here in their paid section. Yay for Dreamstime! Check out other recommended resources here.

Pixabay - What stock photo sites are the best?

WHAT IT IS: Pixabay is everyone’s favorite – and they’re definitely one of mine!

WHAT I LIKE ABOUT IT: How huge their collection of photos is! Pixabay has more stock photos than anybody and the selection is really, really great. I’ve turned to them time and time again because of their wide variety and vast selection of photos.

Pexels - What stock photo sites are the best?

WHAT IT IS: Pexels is a gorgeous and large resource with photos.

WHAT I LIKE ABOUT IT: They’re SUPER unique because they actually let you search by color. This is huge for any blogger or entrepreneur who wants to make sure the photos they select is consistent with the color palette of their branding and website. I know that this is something that matters to me, so if it matters to you – definitely check out Pexels.
